I don’t make BookTube videos, but I didn’t think that it should hold me back from joining the challenges that happen.
It was difficult for me to pick between the two challenges that run through July, so I decided to merge the two and combine them where I can, without breaking the guidelines of each individual challenge.
Below is my combined TBR list for the two challenges, and with each book is the challenge I will be ticking off along with them.
ENJOY and WISH ME LUCK! 😀
- A Monster Calls, by Patrick Ness
Booktube-A-Thon: #3 – Finish a book in a day (one sitting), and #5 – Finish a book completely outdoors.
- Dracula (an adaption), by Nicky Raven
Booktube-A-Thon: #7 – Read 7 books
***I realised after I compiled this TBR list, that I have 8 books in total. However, I kept this in the challenges because I have been dying to get to it anyway.***
- Flame in the Mist, by Renee Andieh
Biannual Bibliothon: #1 – Group book challenge
***I don’t own this book yet, but I may get it so that I can participate in this particular challenge, we shall see how my reading goes!***
- The Hate U Give, by Angie Thomas
Brace yourselves, this book ticked off quite a few challenges.Biannual Bibliothon: #2 Read from the host’s favourite genre
***I chose Emma, from Emmabooks, and her genre choice was ‘diversity’.***
Booktube-A-Thon: #1 – Read a book with a person on the cover, #2 – Read a hyped book, and #4 – Read about a character that is very different from you.
- Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, by J.K. Rowling
Biannual Bibliothon: #3 – Read a book that has been, or still is banned.
***To be 100% honest, I was not aware that this was the case until I heard it mentioned on the book tube community a bunch of times.***
#5 – Read (and watch) a book to movie adaptation.
*I am currently re reading/ re watching the HP series so this worked out perfectly for me*.
- The Imaginary, by A.F. Harrold
Booktube-A-Thon: #6 – Read a book that you bought because of the cover. ***Technically, I only picked up this book because of the cover, however after reading the synopsis I ended up wanting to read it even more, so I don’t know if that counts, but I don’t really keep books around that I have no interest in reading, so this is about as close as I could get for this one.***
- Library of Souls, by Ransom Riggs
Biannual Bibliothon: #4 – This is the throwback challenge, and for this challenge I chose ‘Finish a series you have already started‘, and #6 – Read a book that you have seen somewhere other than Booktube.
***I actually just spoke to a sales assistant at my local bookstore one day, and she happen to be raving about it, and I happen to be looking for an interesting series to start up, so I picked up all three of these books. Which is evidently what lead to me looking up book reviews on youtube and finding the Booktube community! Crazy stuff.***
- Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, by Becky Albertalli
Biannual Bibliothon: #7 – Read a book that is LGBTQIA+
So there we have it, the 14 challenges set out by both the Biannual Bibliothon, and the Booktube-A-Thon, that will (hopefully) be completed in time!
Eight books doesn’t seem like too much in 7 days does it?!
Let me know if you have read or plan on reading any of the books on this TBR list, and shoot me the link to your own challenge TBRs!
– Happy Reading –
